BLACK PEAS
YESTERDAY MY DAUGHTER BROUGHT US A BAG OF, WHAT SHE SAID WERE "BLACK PEAS" TO ME THEY JUST LOOKED LIKE ORDINARY PEAS BUT HARD.. I REMEMBER 'BLACK PEAS' BEING SMALL HARD PEAS WHICH WE USED IN PEA SHOOTERS. ANYWAY I STEEPED THEM OVERNIGHT AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS. AND HAVE JUST BOILED THEM UP. TO BE HONEST THEY TASTE JUST LIKE ORDINARY PEAS!!!! NOT THE TASTE I REMEMBER THEM BEING THAT YOU GOT AT WIGAN FAIR.. MY QUESTION IS, ARE THESE NOW CLASSED AS "BLACK PEAS" OR ARE THE ORIGINAL PEA SHOOTER PEAS, 'BLACK PEAS'?? AND WHERE CAN YOU BUY THEM FROM? REALLY DISAPPOINTED

Ron, I get my dried peas from the toffee stall in the market hall believe it or not.. I might be going that way today so I’ll ask the woman that owns the stall about black peas and I’ll let you know one way or another.

Weren't ordinary dried peas what you had for the pea shooter? Why, for such a purpose would you want to be buying any specific variety?

ENA THEY WERE SMALL, HARD, PERFECTLY ROUND, PEAS ABOUT 1/8" - 3/16" DIA. WE CALLED THEM PIGEON PEAS THEY WERE JUST THE JOB TO USE IN PEA SHOOTERS.

Admin, you took your peashootering far more seriously than did I. I am sure that I just nicked a handful of dried peas from the pantry. Did not have the dosh to splash out on non essentials.
